Sometimes I would try to guess what everyone did for a living or where they were headed or what their names were.
It becomes a world where souls leave their bodies to commit crimes of passion and hatred, purgatory-like villages hide in distant valleys, and Colonel Sanders reveals an “entrance stone” to an alternate world.
What if I woke up one day with amnesia? What if I had no recollection of who I was or what I’ve done or who everyone has always told me I am?
In the end, I did lay in bed, thinking just one thought. That thought kept repeating in my head like a mantra. It was raw desire. It was, “knock on my door and kiss me.”
