A long-haul or international flight doesn’t have to be a bad experience. In fact, it can be a great chance to catch up on some work, read a good book, or finally watch that movie that’s been on your list.
I circled around the neon lights and streetwear shops in Shibuya, the sexy times neighborhood of Kabukicho, had a classic Harajuku shopping experience on Takeshita Dori, and stumbled upon expensive thrift shops in Jingumae.
In Jinbocho, Tokyo, you’ll find cramped used bookstores that sell 17th century text about Samurai culture, taboo novels in which the narrator is the devil, or classic 80s movie posters with Japanese text.
This is one of the most well-preserved district in Kyoto. Fully dressed Geishas wander the streets and are very interesting and beautiful to behold but, please, don’t make them uncomfortable my shoving your camera in their face.
