About Me Appreciation

24 Cities In 24 Years

These memories of such incredible adventures will be enough to sustain me, for the time being.

In the 24 years that I have been on Earth, I’ve been fortunate enough to travel to 24 countries and over a hundred cities. I’ve been to places that, quite frankly, I didn’t enjoy too much and I’ve been to places that made me think I should probably just quit my job and never go home, like Japan.

In just two weeks, I’ll be moving to Los Angeles and, with such a major life change ahead of me, I have been thinking a lot on my past. Because I’ve had to really penny pinch these past few months, in order to comfortably move to LA, my travels have been placed on a temporary hold. Of course, I still have moments where I think, “Screw it, I’m going to go to Sweden and I’ll figure this out later.”

Although these are nice thoughts to entertain, I know that my priority and main focus right now has to be furthering my career and building a stable future, something that I am genuinely very excited to do. It’s easy for me to just pack up and travel for two months or two years. But it’s hard to sell half your closet and furniture and just straight up move to a new city, where I’ll have to make new friends, find a new job, and move into a new home.

I am no stranger to the world, having been to all kinds of wonderful and foreign places. The memories of such incredible opportunities and adventures (like going to summer camp in Switzerland when I was ten or moving to Cairo to study Arabic) will be enough to sustain me, for the time being.

I wanted to use this post to not only update all of you on my upcoming move but to reflect on my most cherished travel memories. In honor of my 24 years on this strange planet, I choose my top 24 favorite cities that I’ve been to. I’ll finish it up with 24 more cities that I hope to explore by the time I’m 48.

Without further ado, here are my top 24 favorite cities!

I never want to stop exploring and with fun lists like this (and tons of inspiring Instagram accounts) it’s easy to keep my eye on the prize.

The best part of all of this is that these countries, these places that I so desperately want to explore, will always be there. They will always be waiting for me.
